Good Things Utah

Shane Lee Band on Good Things Utah In the summer of 2010 a cute couple hired us to play for their wedding. “Good Things Utah” decided to do a bit on what they would do if they couldn’t do what they were doing. Angie Larsen decided she wanted to be a wedding singer, so she put an add out in the paper looking for anyone who was getting married that would be willing to let her sing at their wedding.

Assembly at Belmont

Well, a lot of things have changed since COVID happend. We didn’t get to do the music assembly for 2 years. And John Jay has changed schools. He’s now teaching at Belmont Elementary. So, guess where we did the Music Assembly this year. That’s right. We did it at Belmont Elementary. We were joined by Scott Greer on guitar. This is a fun event for the kids where we teach them about the language of music.

Assembly at Eaglecrest 2019

So, every Friday, my students and I walk down to the 1st grade and I teach the kids fun songs and bring an instrument of the week. It’s my favorite 30 minutes of the entire week. Every spring, I bring my whole drum set and a couple random musician friends to teach the kids about “The Language of Music”. We introduce our instruments and then discuss the fact that style, tempo, time signature and key signature help musicians that have never met be able to play music together.

Naked Waiters at Homestead
